Children and interdental cleaning

From the age of 16, juveniles should start cleaning their interdental spaces. Juveniles usually have teeth that are very close together with “a lot” of gums compared to an adult. Therefore, we recommend floss or very thin interdental brushes for young people. The bone and the gum naturally recede with age and the interdental spaces become larger. If these spaces are not cleaned regularly, the result is an unphysiological (unnatural) bone decomposition in the sense of periodontal disease.
